Hosting goes on a site that already exists
Hosting is bought after there is a site to host. Build one with the free builder, have your current site revamped, or have one personalized, and then come back here with the order id from that order.
Who the domain belongs to
We register the domain in our own account and manage it for you, so you are not the registrant of record while we do. You can have it transferred into your own registrar account at any time, free, and we will help you do it. One thing outside our control: for the first 60 days after a new registration the rules of the domain system will not let it move at all.
How renewal works
Hosting renews once a year on the same date and we email you before it does. If a renewal payment does not go through, your site stays up for another 14 days while we email you about it. After that the site is paused until the payment is sorted out. Your files are not deleted and the site goes back up as soon as it is.
If hosting ends, we stop renewing the domain and it expires unless you move it to your own registrar account first. Ask us and we will start that transfer for you, at no charge.

Bringing your own domain
Two records at your registrar point your domain here. Use the ALIAS row if your registrar offers ALIAS, ANAME or a flattened CNAME, because it follows our load balancer and keeps working if the address behind it changes. Use the A row only if your registrar has no ALIAS option. Add the www row either way.

Your exact site name is on your order page. After you save the records, it can take a few hours for them to spread across the internet, and sometimes a full day. Nothing is broken while you wait.
