01 — Cost and flat fees

What it costs, said up front.

Wills and trusts from

$1,200

A flat fee. You hear the number for your plan before you decide.

How much does a will or trust cost?

Wills and trusts start at $1,200. It is a flat fee.

We tell you the exact price for your plan before any work starts.

What does “flat fee” mean?

One price, agreed before we begin. It does not grow with the hours we spend.

You know the number before you say yes.

Why does it say “from” $1,200?

Every family is a little different. Some plans have more pieces than others.

Either way, you hear the full price first. No surprises later.

Is the first meeting really free?

Yes. It is free and takes 30 minutes.

You can leave with your answers and decide later. There is no pressure.

What does probate help cost?

It depends on the estate. We look at your situation and tell you the fee in plain words before we start.

02 — Do I really need a will?

Do I really need a will?

If you have children, a home or savings, the short answer is yes. And it is simpler than most people fear.

What does a will do?

It says who receives what you own.

If your children are young, it names who would raise them. It also names the person who carries out your wishes.

What if we don’t have one?

Then Utah law decides who receives your property, and a court chooses a guardian for young children.

A will lets you make those choices yourself.

We don’t have much. Do we still need one?

A plan is not only for the wealthy. It is for anyone who wants their family to know what to do.

The decisions stay with you, not with strangers.

We’re healthy. Can it wait?

Many parents put it off. A plan is easiest to make when nothing is urgent.

Most plans are signed in two meetings. You can change it later as life changes.

03 — Will, trust or both?

Will, trust or both?

Both do the same main job: they pass on what you own to the people you choose. They do it in different ways.

Option one

A will

  • Says who receives what you own.
  • Names who would raise young children.
  • Usually goes through probate court after a death.

From $1,200, flat fee

Option two

A living trust

  • Holds your home and savings while you are alive.
  • Passes them on after, as you chose.
  • Can help your family avoid probate and keep things private.

From $1,200, flat fee

What many families choose

Both, together

  • The trust holds the main things you own.
  • A short will backs it up and catches anything left outside.
  • The will can still name a guardian for your children.

We tell you the price before you decide

Not sure which fits? That is what the free 30-minute meeting is for.

04 — What is probate?

What is probate?

Probate is the court process that settles someone’s affairs after they die. It sounds heavy. In plain words, it does three things.

  1. i.

    Confirms the plan

The court accepts the will, or follows Utah law if there is no will.

  2. ii.

    Settles what is owed

Final bills and debts are paid from the estate.

  3. iii.

    Passes on the rest

What is left goes to the right people.
